Students at Shady Spring Middle School got a hands-on lesson about Arbor Day.

Workers at Aspen Corporation instructed the three 4-H students Katie Amick, Beth Pettrey, and Alex Underwood on the proper way to plant the crab apple tree.

Landscape Production Manager, Dean Myles, had the three girls participate in the planting.

For Myles Arbor Day is a great way to help educate the youth and volunteer at the same time, "Its really important to give community support, that way it works out for the both of us."

Myles said it's nice to give back to the community because they've been so good to their business over the last 30 years.

Aspen Corporation also planted trees at St. Anthony's.

Aspen Corporation helps to support the American Red Cross, Raleigh County Animal Shelter and Thorn Hill Courts in Beckley.
