ATHENS -

The season continues for the Concord men's golf team.

Friday afternoon, the Mountain Lions earned a bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional
tournament, to be held May 7-9 at the Hershey Country Club East Course in Hershey, PA.

It's the sixth consecutive NCAA berth for the Mountain Lions, who received an at-large bid after finishing 4th in last fall's WVIAC Championships. The Mountain Lions won the Atlantic/East Regional in 2010 at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, WV.

Concord is ranked #4 in the NCAA's latest Atlantic Region rankings.

The top five teams in the regional will advance to the NCAA National Championships on May 15-19 in Simpsonville, KY. Concord is seeking its fourth consecutive trip to the national tournament.

Three Concord players earned All-WVIAC recognition this year. Sebastian Starud – the Medalist at the WVIAC Championships – and Evan Muscari made the 1st Team, with Matt Morgan gaining a spot on the 2nd Team.

Concord is one of four WVIAC teams to earn regional bids, joining Bluefield State, the University of Charleston and Davis & Elkins.

The Mountain Lions wrapped up their regular season last weekend with a victory at the weather-shortened Gannon Spring Mixer in Clymer, NY.
