Schools Dance to ‘Cha Cha Slide’ Wednesday in W.Va.

    Authorities at the Beckley Correctional Facility are searching for a missing inmate. Joshua Greenwood was reported missing late Monday night. Guards say he was unaccounted for in a 10:15 p.m. head count.
    A press release from the West Virginia Division of Corrections indicates that, as of Wednesday afternoon, Joshua Greenwood has been captured.

CHARLESTON -

As part of a continuing push to encourage more physical activity in the classroom, West Virginia schools will participate in the first ever "Let's Moveapalooza West Virginia" on Wednesday, May 2.

At 10 a.m., students from schools across the state will be putting down their pencils to dance to the popular song "The Cha Cha Slide."

State Superintendent of Schools Jorea Marple will be joining students at Elk Elementary Center in Charleston. The event is part of a push to get schools to incorporate at least 15 minutes of physical activity into each school day.

The West Virginia Department of Education's ‘Let's Move! WV" initiative is part o f the state's Physical Activity Plan. The West Virginia Board of Education has declared May 2, which falls in National Sport and Physical Education Week, as Lets' Move West Virginia Day.
