Detectives with the Beckley City Police Department said a customer at City National Bank in Beckley was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday.

They said it happened on Park Avenue around 3p.m.

According to Detective Dave Allard, the suspect approached the victim wearing a mask and demanded money.

Allard is advising people in the area to be especially vigilant when depositing or withdrawing money from an A.T.M.

"This is obviously a very serious situation and we want people to be vigilant on transactions like this. We always suggest that when you go to the ATM to look back and see if there's anyone in the parking lot," said Allard.

Allard is urging anyone with information on this incident to contact their office.
