The Fayette County Sheriff's Office worked with the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force and State Police to make a pair of arrests on Friday.
Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that happened over the weekend in Glen Daniel.
Police said it happened at the Little General on Harper Road on Saturday.
Authorities said two suspects, Kenneth Hardy, 33, and Jackie Christian, 24, were arrested in connection with the theft.
"The suspects, after they committed armed robbery ran across the road into the woods. So our dog began a chase, a search. It was a very active search. The suspects then apparently dropped the money. With the dogs chasing them, they did not go back to retrieve the money. So we were actually able to recover the stolen money before the suspects," said Sheriff Steve Tanner.
Tanner said both individuals are being charged with 1st Degree Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
