Even though Earth Day was last week, one university celebrated Mother Nature on Monday.
Concord University's Earth Day was canceled due to last week's storm, but it was rescheduled for today.
Students, faculty and staff worked to beautify campus in the name of Mother Earth.
"It's important for Mother Earth because we live here," Allison Adams, a Concord University student, said. "It's one of those things that if we cut down all the trees, there will be fewer trees that give us oxygen and air to breathe."
Participants picked up litter, weeded and planted flowers all over Concord's campus.
