ITMANN -

Wyoming County senior citizens who wish to vote but don't have reliable transportation have a new resource to turn to.

The Wyoming County Council on Aging is offering free transportation for seniors interested in voting early in the West Virginia primary elections. The transportation is offered from the Council on Aging's office in Itmann to the Wyoming County Courthousem, where early voting occurs.

"We certainly want to encourage people to vote, and we're finding that some of our seniors would like to vote early," said Council on Aging Executive Director Jennifer Gibson. "But it's a problem for some seniors to get to the courthouse in Pineville and back. We can help, so we're offering this service."

Gibson advises anyone who is interested in taking advantage of this service to call 1-800-499-4080, or visit the Council on Aging Center in Itmann to arrange transportation.

Gibson also says that Council on Aging personnel who work with clients in their homes will also offer clients transportation to polling places on Election Day, May 8.
