CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -

A federal inmate who allegedly told a prison psychologist that he planned to blow up the White House upon release has been indicted on charges of threatening the president.

A grand jury in Clarksburg issued the indictment Tuesday against John Streeter, identified only as an inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary at Hazelton in Preston County.

Streeter is charged with both threatening President Barack Obama and with mailing a threatening communication.

Prosecutors say Streeter made the threat orally on March 1, then tried to mail a written threat on March 25.

The indictment didn't give Streeter's age or say why he's currently incarcerated.
