CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -

The six Democrats seeking nomination for two seats on the West Virginia Supreme Court had together spent $1.4 million as of April 22.

Their balances totaled nearly $590,000 heading into the race's final two weeks.

Former State Bar President Tish Chafin had spent the most, more than $732,700. While Chafin has raised $170,000, she loaned her campaign $1 million to provide the bulk of its funds.

Incumbent Justice Robin Davis had spent $543,127 as she pursues her third statewide bid for the seat. Davis has self-funded her campaign with $360,000. But Davis has also raised an additional $239,000, the most among the candidates.

Circuit Judge Jim Rowe had a strong fundraising month in April. He's spent $110,000 of his total.
