State officials are proposing raising various taxes, including those on cigarettes, in order to raise money to repair the damaged highways.
The first Thursday in May is the National Day of Prayer and Rainelle Christian Academy participated with a special event.
Students at Rainelle Christian Academy celebrated the 61st annual observance of the day around their flagpole at 8:45 a.m. Organizers said they recited the pledge of allegiance than heard from speaker Kenneth Brachman.
