Firefighters rally for last-minute support before voters head to the polls Tuesday.

They are asking voters to support a fire levy that would provide much needed help to struggling volunteer fire departments in Raleigh County.

On Saturday, firefighters were in Beckley to give away thousands of hotdogs on Eisenhower Drive, and answer questions from the public about the levy ahead of Tuesday's vote.

Beckley Fire Marshall Kevin Price was among the many firefighters who came out to show their support Saturday. He said the levy is critical to keeping several struggling fire departments in our area open for business.

"I see the bigger picture. I don't just look at me. That's what we have to do. We have to look next door to our neighbor. They're our friends and our family. There's people out there who want the help. Let's give them the opportunity to have the help," said Price.

The fire levy will be on the ballot for Raleigh County's primary election on Tuesday. Firefighters said it would amount to a couple dollars a month for the average homeowner.
