Freezing Embryos Appears to be Effective

Posted: Updated:

A new study shows freezing embryos is associated with a lower risk of birth defects compared to other reproductive technology.

Researchers in Australia studied a variety of therapies including in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer and sperm injection into an egg.

They believe there may be fewer birth defects with freezing embryos because embryos that are compromised may not survive the freeze-thaw process.
