Benefit Scheduled to Help Monroe County Teens Hurt in Accident

Three Monroe County teens, injured in a car accident on April 26, continue to recover.

Ryan Payne, Cody Allen, and Tanner Gullette were on their way to a youth group meeting at the New Hope Tabernacle Church in Union when the accident happened.

Payne, the driver has been released form the hospital; Allen, a passenger remains at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in stable condition, while Gullette is in critical condition at the same hospital.

A benefit auction and gospel sing to raise money for the teens will happen on May 19 at James Monroe High school.

Gospel singing and a meal gets underway at 1 p.m.

Then an auction will start at 5 p.m..

All proceeds will go to benefit the teens.

If you would like to donate an item for the auction, you can do so at several locations throughout Monroe County.  They include James Monroe High School, Korner Kafe, Ashley's Food Pride, and New Hope Tabernacle activities building.
