Exercise Can Counteract Muscle Breakdown

Posted: Updated:

Exercise can counteract muscle breakdown from aging and heart failure according to new research in the Journal Circulation.

Researchers found that 4 weeks of aerobic exercise led to increased muscle strength, and reduced inflammation among heart failure patients regardless of age.

The study's authors say the findings challenge the belief of many doctors that cardiac rehabilitation does not really help in the elderly.
