Secretary of State Natalie Tennant Keeps a Close Eye on the Election

West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant's office is closely watching how voting goes across the state for Election Day.

"Election Day is running pretty smoothly," said Tennant.

Representatives from the office are on alert, waiting for any reports of fraud or other trouble at polling places.

Tennant said voting appears to be going off without a hitch, but she admits weather can become a concern, "There are some weather issues that I am concerned about. There's power out in one county, a lot of rain across the state of West Virginia that has me concerned a little bit.

Tennant said her and representatives at the polls will be keeping their eyes out of anything suspicious, "I am worried about the voters who are independent voters. They need to go in and make sure they ask for a Democrat or Republican ballot. Otherwise, they will just receive a non-partisan ballot, like a board of education or a levy ballot."

Tennant is up for re-election.
