FAYETTEVILLE -
Most counties across our region are embracing the electronic voting machines for people to cast ballots.
But in Fayette County, paper ballots are still the norm.
And that posed some problems during the election.
"One precinct taped together Republican ballots which were two pages this time. So we are going to have to hold that along with another precincts ballot that came in very wet so these will be things that will delay the process here in Fayette County until late in the evening or early in the morning," Fayette County Clerk Kelvin Holliday said.
Luckily-- the machine counters were able to read the ballots correctly.
Only a handful of ballots had to be transcribed by poll workers.
