W.Va. Richard Browning defeated in Democratic primary by Daniel Hall

PINEVILLE -

A major upset here in Wyoming County after Tuesday's election.  Delegate Daniel Hall has won the democratic nomination over Richard Browning for the District 9 State Senate seat.

"In some ways it is just hard to believe! We've worked a really hard time," Daniel Hall said.

And for Daniel Hall, all that hard work paid off in the primaries. Hall has snagged the democratic nomination from Richard Browning who has had a hand in politics since the late 80s.  Hall attributes the big win to voters seeking change.

"I just think there were some issues that had happened in the Senate District that voters were just not happy with," Daniel Hall (D) Senate Candidate said.

Hall will now face off against Republican Epp Cline in the November election for the 9th District Senate Seat--- a seat that representatives all of Raleigh, all of Wyoming and portions of McDowell Counties. Hall said this is a seat that will require a lot of team work to represent all of these different areas.

"I think that people like their representatives and senators to work together and if I am fortunate enough to win this fall I hope we all can make a good team in Charleston," Hall continued.

Hall said even though the excitement is over, his focus is on November, but first on to a little campaign clean-up.

"They job is never done! We've got to get everything picked up here in the next few days get all of the litter off the streets and get the signs down take a few days off and reassess and start back soon.

59 News did stop by Richard Browning's Office and workers said they did not expect him in today.  We did place a call to Browning and so far our calls have gone unanswered.
