Posted: Updated:

Funeral arrangements are set for a West Virginia music legend.

Everett Lilly passed away Tuesday at the age of 87.

Lilly was a native of Clear Creek and a pioneer in bluegrass and gospel music.

He made his mark on music history performing with his brother in The Lilly Brother's and with Flatt and Earl Scruggs.

He was inducted into the Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame in 2002 and into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2008.

A public wake is being held Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Raleigh County.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, and all services are open to the public.

In lieu of flowers, the Lilly family has set up a memorial fund at City National Bank in Beckley.
