A sharp increase in the number of meth labs over the past few months is bringing a call to action by all law enforcement agencies in parts of our area.
The community is invited to a three day greenhouse plant sale at Liberty High School starting on Thursday, May 10.
Agriculture and Forestry teacher and Future Farmers of America Advisor Kevin Okes is the organizer of the event. Plants that were raised by students over the winter months are available for purchase. They include garden vegetables and hanging baskets of flowers. New this year they added strawberries in hanging baskets which have been a popular item.
"People say they like the idea of going out on the porch for a fresh strawberry," said Okes.
This is the fourth year Okes has held the event. The sale runs until 7 p.m. on Thursday, then from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday. They will also be set up in Glen Daniel near Whitesville State Bank on Saturday at 9 a.m.
