LEWISBURG -

New River Community and Technical College took a break from preparing for this weekend's graduation events to thank the media for their coverage.

The Greenbrier Valley campus in Lewisburg held a media luncheon for all the media outlets in the region.

Media representatives were able to take a short break from the news day and enjoy lunch at the Greenbrier Valley campus.

"We are very fortunate to live in an area where our news media do understand the importance of what we're doing. They get the word out. We couldn't possibly get the word out to the number of people that we do without the assistance of the news," said Barbara Elliott, director of public relations for NRCTC.

Students at the college are finishing final exams for the semester, and around 200 students from all the campuses are preparing for graduation this weekend.
