The following is a press release from Concord University:

Five Concord baseball players have earned All-WVIAC recognition, as voted up by the conference's coaches.
Outfielder Bret Blevins is on the 1st Team.  Infielders Keith Morrisroe, Jerrod Groves and Ryan Johnston made the 2nd Team, with relief pitcher Will Zuspan receiving Honorable Mention.

Blevins hit .371 this season, with five home runs, 45 runs batted in, 97 total bases and a .571 slugging percentage.  The sophomore from Owings, MD hit an impressive .440 with runners in scoring position and .600 with the bases loaded.

Blevins was 18-18 in stolen base attempts and ranked 7th in the conference in RBIs and 8th in total bases.  He was the WVIAC's Player of the Week – and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Player of the Week – for March 26.

Morrisroe, Concord's captain, started all 50 regular-season games at shortstop and his .403 batting average was 4th-best in the league.  The senior from Chantilly, VA was among the nation's leaders in three categories:  Walks (43, 6th), on-base percentage (.547, 7th) and runs scored (56, 17th).

Morrisroe hit .451 with runners in scoring position and struck out just 12 times in 149 at-bats.  His 123 assists were 2nd in the WVIAC, he tied for 3rd in triples (4) and stole 19 bases to finish 5th in that category.  He was also 5th in the league in plate appearances, with 207.

Morrisroe made Concord history on April 29 when he played all nine positions in a 12-0 victory over Bluefield State in his final home game as a Mountain Lion.

Johnston quickly emerged as Concord's main power threat in his first season in the program.  The freshman from Ashburn, VA topped CU with 10 home runs and 48 RBIs while slugging .611.

Johnston started all 50 games, posting a .344 batting average, a .414 on-base percentage and hit .381 with runners in scoring position.  He was also steady with the glove, committing just one error while posting a stellar .997 fielding percentage.

Groves started in all 49 games in which he appeared, hitting .349 with 18 stolen bases.  The freshman from Covington, VA was second on the team in total bases, with 87, and hit .407 with runners in scoring position.

Zuspan was the mainstay of CU's bullpen, appearing in 22 games – all in relief.  The sophomore from Mason, WV led Concord with five saves.  Zuspan recorded a 2-2 record with a 4.91 earned run average in 33 innings.
