BECKLEY -

Fans of all types of music have something to look forward to, as the all-day acoustic music festival "Beckley Unplugged" is set to take place on Saturday, May 19th.

Organized by Mountain State University's Student Government Association, "Beckley Unplugged" will feature three stages of live music with each stage showcasing local musicians from a different genre of music.

Featured performers at the event will include members of The Boatmen, Lady D, the Heart of God Ministries Mass Choir, Shyar and Friends and Euphoric Acoustic. Musical acts will perform from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. in the John W. Eye Conference Center. Tickets for the event are only $5, and proceeds go to benefit the Southern West Virginia Men's Fellowship Home and Mothers Against Prescription Drug Abuse.

In addition to the musical performances, the event will include a car show, exhibits by local artists, food vendors and face painting. Members of the Beckley Area Derby Dames roller derby team will be on hand to meet and greet the public.

The event is being supported by several local businesses and organizations including Little General Stores, Padrino's of Beckley, YMCA of Southern WV, Dr. Kevin Lucky, Spartan Sporting Goods and BJW Printing.
