Non-Oral Contraceptive Could Increase Blood Clot Risk

Posted: Updated:

There is more evidence today that non-oral contraceptives can increase the risk of blood clots for women.

Researchers followed Danish patients for 10 years and found those who used a contraceptive skin patch were 8 times more likely to develop deep vein Thrombosis.

For women who use contraception rings they were 6 and a half times more likely to develop clots.

Non-oral contraceptives continuously release hormones into the body to prevent pregnancy.
