Beckley Quota Club is an organization made up of well to do business women from across Raleigh County with big hearts, and Thursday evening club members took time out to help women less fortunate then themselves.
Beckley Quota Club hosted a night of fun and learning for the women in the Mothers Program at Pinecrest Hospital in Raleigh County.
The Mothers Program has been in existence for more than 10 years and during that time they've helped women from all walks of life get back on to their feet and become productive in society through a three step program.
The Mothers Program is a six month program for females 18 years of age and older. During the program women learn about addiction they maybe facing, they're taught how to love and respect themselves and also how to manage finances.
Members of the Quota Club stopped by the Mothers Program house and had specific stations for the women to visit. The women got hands on lessons with club members on flower arraigning, crock-pot recipes, interview skills and credit advice.
Linda Lane is the Activities Director at the Mothers Program, she was pleased to have the Beckley Quota Club members give back to the young women in the program, "It's wonderful!"
Lane said having the club members visit the women assists them in their recovery process. "There is no stereotyping here."
Natalie Canipe has been in the Mother Program for three in half months and she says being in the program has saved her life, "I think I have a real good chance of making it."
Canipe enjoyed making wreath arrangements with the ladies, "It helps us to get out of ourselves and feel good about what we are doing."
Beckley Quota Club is also hosting a Mother's Day dinner for the women on Saturday.
