LEWISBURG -
To celebrate national tourism week, the Greenbrier County Visitors Bureau awarded four spirit of tourism awards to businesses and individuals who influence tourism in the Greenbrier Valley.
The CVB says the spirit of tourism awards night is a way to say thank you to the entire industry for their contribution in keeping the area thriving.
"Tourism is one of the largest industries in Greenbrier County. It has a 181 million dollar impact a year. Without the almost 300 tourism-based businesses in Greenbrier County, the industry wouldn't be what it is," said Kara Dense, CVB executive director.
The Greenbrier Classic and Smooth Ambler Spirits were the two businesses chosen as award winners.
Bri Jackson from the Greenbrier Historical Society and Larry Davis were the two individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions.
