SHADY SPRING -

Our very own morning meteorologist James Hopkins is taking a break from his day job.

James Hopkins visited third graders at Shady Elementary School this morning to talk about what it takes to predict the weather.

Julia Reynolds a 3rd grade teacher hopes the students feel inspired by Hopkins visit.

"Even at this young age we want them to know what opportunities they have. We may have children here who aspire to be on the news or to be a meteorologist we want them to be aware that they can do those things," Julia Reynolds, Shady Elementary Teacher said.

And not to worry Hopkins will be returning to his post as meteorologist Monday morning.

But Hopkins said he enjoyed trying his hand at teaching.
