Lacey Middlebrooks threw a complete game and Cierra Hughes drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth inning to force in the winning run as Tulsa beat Marshall 3-2 to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA softball tournament.
Cassidy Bowen doubled and scored in the second and fourth innings as the Golden Hurricane (41-12) won their third Conference USA tournament championship. The NCAA tournament bracket will be announced Sunday.
After Marshall (36-21) scored twice in the top of the fifth to tie it, Middlebrooks had a one-out double in the bottom of the inning to start Tulsa's rally.
Andi Williamson (25-13) walked three of the next four batters to force in the deciding run.
Jill Barrett and Caitlin Everett had RBI singles for Tulsa.
