PINEVILLE -
The discovery of a third body in Wyoming County raises questions.. What happened to the two others?
As Sheriff's Deputies and state police continue to look for clues into two open missing persons cases.
Meanwhile the community is rattled by the violence.
Lifetime Wyoming County residents tell me they never thought this could happen here. And as the body count adds up.. The number of questions do too.
"You wonder what's going on," Doris Bailey of Oceana said.
What IS going on...the question Wyoming County locals are asking after the gruesome discovery on Friday of a body floating in a pool. They want answers after Chester Stewart, Brian Cook, Rachel Toler and Sherry Myers went missing in the summer of 2011 and now 3 of the 5 have been found DEAD. Lifetime Oceana resident Doris Bailey said she has never seen this kind of violence strike the area.
"Before this was a nice town and nothing went on" Bailey continued.
"This is heartbreaking that we live in a town that this can actually happen," Linda Blackburn of Oceana said.
Blackburn a mother and a grandmother said he is worried about her family and neighbors. She said until she gets answers she will be double bolting her doors and keeping a closer watch on her grandchildren.
"They need to do something because people are getting unease," Blackburn said.
And officials are taking action.
This is something you will ONLY see on 59 News... Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies were searching an abandoned house in Matheny on Tuesday. While their search did turn up empty handed, Sheriff Aliff said they have several other leads that will potential crack these case for them.
But for now-officials are remaining tight lipped about if the cases of Brian Cook, Rachel Toler, Sherry Myers and Chester Stewart are connected....
And until they get answers... this community remains on high alert.
"I'm concerned for my kids, my grand kids, my neighbors! Everyone is involved, it is a community thing. This was a very peaceful community at one time," Blackburn said.
