Sheriff's deputies arrest two people accused of scamming residents in Mercer County.
Tiffany Palmer and Tadd Wyrick were picked up Tuesday on several charges.
Deputies said they are being held on multiple counts of forgery and uttering and conspiracy.
Palmer and Wyrick were reportedly going to random homes, asking residents to make a donation to the Bible in the Schools program for Melrose Elementary.
They would then take the check to a gas station, alter the amount and cash it.
Deputies believe more people have been hit by the scammers.
If you have made a donation to the Bible in the Schools program, deputies are asking you to call your financial institution and make sure the amount is the same that is on record.
If it does not match, call the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
