ACE Adventure Resort says 180 people have signed up for an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most zip-liners in an hour.
Marketing director Beth Gill says the Oak Hill resort now has a better shot at setting a record on June 3.
Organizers had initially expected only 150 participants.
The goal is to move three people per minute across the zip line.
The course extends more than a mile along the New River Gorge, but only one segment is being used.
The current record is held by a German outfitter that sent 122 people on a rope slide in the Black Forest in 2010.
Gill says spectator space is limited, so the event will be broadcast on screens at the resort's Big Top Tent.
