Fairlea Flea Market Shines on Final Day

Posted: Updated:

Sunday was the final day of the Fairlea Flea Market.

Vendors came as far as Virginia and North Carolina over the weekend to set up shop at the State Fairgrounds.

More than 200 vendors participated in the market, selling everything from plants to produce, according to organizers.

Beauford Morton, originally from Meadow Bridge, came all the way from Richmond to sell his American-made silks.

"This is coming home for me. I have a lot of repeat customers, a lot of family people, a lot of friends that stop by. It's beautiful weather. I just something I do and I like it," said Morton.

The three-day event even featured the fair's famous cinnamon rolls on sale throughout the day.

Anyone interested in setting up shop next year may purchase a space by calling the state fair office.
