The Beckley Police Department is increasing its sobriety patrols this Memorial Day weekend.
Officers will be conducting a DUI checkpoint Friday, May 25, between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. on South Fayette Street near Beaver Avenue.
An alternate location will be on Route 19.
Officers will be looking for impaired drivers, underage drinking and those driving on suspended or revoked driver's licenses.
The Beckley Police Department, along with the Southern Regional Highway Safety Office, encourages the motoring public to drive safe, plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
Additional patrols will be taking place throughout the holiday weekend.
