The Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter will honor Senator Dan Foster and Peggy Baller Everly with the 2012 Rockefeller Award at the 12th annual Thanks for the Memories Luncheon on Wednesday, May 23rd at the Charleston Town Center Marriott at 11:45 a.m.

The Rockefeller Award is named in honor of the first recipient, Senator John D. Rockefeller, and given each year by the Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter to two individuals for their outstanding support for the cause of Alzheimer's disease in West Virginia.

Senator Dan Foster was chosen for the award because of his empathy to policy making around Alzheimer's disease and other health issues. Senator Foster aided legislation such as the recently approved Make a Plan for Alzheimer's, MAP, created to address Alzheimer's disease and dementia in West Virginia.

Peggy Baller Everly is the clinical director of the adult day care program of Family Service of the Upper Ohio Valley in Wheeling, WV and a trained geriatric specialist. Peggy served the Wheeling Community through Family Service of the Upper Ohio Valley for the past 25 years. Peggy was chosen for her instrumental leadership within the senior center community, and was instrumental in securing the first grant to provide statewide certification training for adult day service program assistants.

The annual Thanks for the Memories Luncheon is a key fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter. Funds raised support the Association's critical programs and services for individuals, families and professionals facing Alzheimer's disease in West Virginia.

Tickets to the luncheon are $75 and can be purchased by calling 800.272.3900 or by visiting www.alz.org/wv.
