With one week until Memorial Day, one Wyoming County cemetery is making a major change that has some community members pretty upset.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -
West Virginia American Water plans to re-examine providing support for local water projects under a proposed settlement with eight public service districts.
The districts had filed a complaint last fall with the state Public Service Commission after the company reduced funding for public-private water partnerships. The districts asked the PSC to force West Virginia American Water to continue providing funding and other assistance for projects.
Under the proposed settlement, the Charleston Gazette reports that the company would go forward with water projects that don't require it to make capital contributions. The company also would re-examine funding for projects that it dropped after committing assistance.
The proposed settlement must be approved by the PSC.
