One of the leaders of Minnesota's swimming and diving program is leaving to take over the women's team at Marshall University.
Minnesota men's and women's head coach Kelly Kremer announced on Wednesday that associate head coach Bill Tramel has accepted the job.
Kremer says Tramel has been waiting for the chance to run a program and "Marshall is very lucky to have him."
Tramel spent the last eight years on the Golden Gophers coaching staff, primarily working with the men's team. He helped them win Big Ten titles in 2005 and 2007. In his lone year working with the women last season, the Gophers won the conference title.
Tramel also served as the primary coach for Alex Wold, the Gopher who was named to Team USA in 2009.
