BECKELY -
After a hiatus of several years, the flea market is
returning to uptown Beckley this Saturday,
May 26.
Kicking off at 7 a.m.,
vendors will be set up for the first Gold Rush Flea market of the year. Eager
shoppers will have the chance to browse a wide variety of merchandise and food
vendors.
"They've even got the big bopper bopping heads, and I think
some music planned for this weekend," said Jill Moorefield of Beckley
Renaissance.
The flea market was cancelled for several years due to the
construction of the Beckley Intermodal Gateway.
Although construction of the gateway's parking area is still
ongoing, Saturday's opening will mark one of the first times the complex will
be available for public use, as vendors will be set up on the top parking area
and part of the second level.
The
space will also be used for the Beckley farmer's market when it
opens later this year.
