RAINELLE -
For 24 years veterans and their families have been welcomed in Rainelle during their annual ride to Washington, D.C.
The Run for the Wall will arrive at Rainelle Elementary School with 300 motorcycles at around 12:15 p.m. The veterans will spend time with the school children and the community the participate in a memorial presentation ceremony after lunch.
The event starts off West Virginia's Veterans Reunion in Rainelle. The event aims to promote healing among veterans, call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action, honor the memory of those who were killed in action and support military personnel all over the world.
The Run for the Wall began in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. on May 16. It wraps up with participation in Rolling Thunder's "Ride For Freedom" in Washington, D.C. on May 27. The riders will also lat a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns on Saturday, May 26.
