BECKLEY -
Beckley police arrest a man in connection to a string of vehicle break ins in the area of Lowes and WalMart.
Thomas Mills faces several charges of breaking and entering, and larceny.
Detectives say over the past several weeks, Mills broke into vehicles, taking a variety of items including lawn care equipment and trailer hitches.
They say he would then scrap or sell these items for money.
Detectives say there is the possibility that vehicle break ins could have happened in other locations of the city and the victims may be unaware.
"It would be important to recognize that something is missing, some of these items are not things you would realize right off. We ask that people would investigate their trailer hitches that sort of thing that would be taken off of a vehicle and report it to the proper agency," said Cpl. M.G. Bragg, Beckley Police Detective.
Mills is in the Southern Regional Jail on 50 thousand dollars bond.
