Drug to Treat Schizophrenia Could be Used to Help Cancer Patients

Scientists believe a drug for schizophrenia may also be able to treat cancer.

Canadian researchers screened hundreds of drugs to see which ones were effective against cancer stem cells.

They found the anti-psychotic drug thioridazine killed cancer cells without the toxic side effects of chemotherapy.

Doctors are now planning trials to test the drug on leukemia patients.
