MADISON -
Probable cause was found in the double homicide and sexual charges against Timothy Parsons.
Parsons was arrested May 16 and charged with killing his wife and mother in law.
In a preliminary hearing Friday, Boone County Chief Deputy Chad Barker detailed the timeline that they believe the murders took place. It was based off of the investigation and reported conversations with Parsons while in custody.
May 13:
Late at night on Mother's Day, Parsons and his wife, Leigh Ann Kinder-Parsons, get into a fight over finances. She goes to bed early.
May 14:
Parsons and his wife awake around 6:30 a.m. and the argument continues. That morning, he killed her by cutting her throat with a work knife. The knife, as described by Barker is several inches long, has one sharpened edge and a wooden handle. It would be found in the home by investigators.
While Parsons' 15-year-old daughter in law, identified in court only as "K", was in the shower, Parsons showed his wife's body to his mother-in-law, Gloria Kinder. He explained what happened, and asked to tie her up. She was tied up and told to be quiet. When she continued to make noise, Parsons allegedly came from behind her and cut her throat. She would be found with her hands still bound by electrical tape.
Parsons told 'K' that her mother and grandmother had taken Nyquil and were still asleep. Together, the pair went shopping for "food and other items" in Boone County and Chesapeake. They watched movies together the rest of the night.
May 15:
"K" went to bed at approximately 1:00 a.m. Parsons followed her into her bedroom and demanded sex. When she refused, Parsons threatened to kill her, like he had her family members. He took her upstairs and showed her the bodies. He then forcibly brought her back downstairs, removed her clothes and raped her. K has been scientifically tested for evidence.
"K" was bound across the wrists and ankles. Parsons told her at 9:30 a.m. that if she tried to escape before 11:30 a.m., he would come back and kill her. Shortly after 11:30, "K" chewed through the tape around her hands and made it to the kitchen where she cut her legs free.
She went next door to the Richard Linville residence, where they called for help.
The grand jury meets in September. A mental evaluation is expected in the case.
