Bluefield military personnel were sharing their stories and what the holiday weekend means for them at Chickory Square on Monday afternoon.
Sergeant Brian Krabbe spoke to the crowd about Memorial Day and what it means for him. He said he was pleased with the turnout Chickory Square, "We still got a lot of good Americans here in the Bluefield and in the Princeton area. They all come out and it's just not the ex-military member there is all a lot of families just a lot of people who want to show their patriotism and pride for their veterans."
A military retiree, Al Hancock said for those who don't take time to remember veterans on Memorial Day he hopes they realize it soon, " I hope its an eye opener that they remember the sacrifices the men and woman have made and they are making today.
The Bluefield High School band performed at Chickory Square this afternoon.
