The search is still on to find a permanent fire chief for the city of Bluefield.
If you remember, former Chief Kevin Scanlon stepped down earlier this month and an interim chief has been appointed.
"It is business as usual for the fire department. We're still responding to the calls we normally respond to and pending a final decision from city administration to who the permanent fire chief will be its business as usual," Glenn Sutphin Interim Bluefield Fire Chief said.
Sutphin stresses the every day operations of the fire department have not been impacted and said it could be awhile before a Fire Chief is appointed.
