Justice Purchases A Different Kind of Resort

Posted: Updated:

One of new Wintergreen Resort owner Jim Justice's top priorities for his latest acquisition is to ensure the long-term stability of the Nelson County resort's residential properties.

The announcement of the merger was sent last week to Wintergreen members.

According to reports, Justice estimates the deal is worth up to $16.5 million and is expected to close by June 30.

It still needs approval by the Wintergreen Partners Inc. board of Directors.

Justice says Wintergreen has some sentimental value because it's one of the last places where he played golf with his father.

Justice bought The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., in 2009.

He bought 4,500 acres south of Charlottesville from MeadWestVaco in 2010, and in March, he purchased a six-story building in downtown Roanoke.
