    Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20.  A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County.  The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
    The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

Last month was among the warmest Mays on record in West Virginia.

Preliminary figures released by the National Weather Service on Friday show Beckley had the second warmest May since records started being kept. The average temperature of 65.5 degrees fell just short of the mark set in 1991.

It also was the fourth-warmest May ever in Elkins (64.2 degrees), the seventh warmest in Huntington (68.8), the eighth warmest in Charleston (69.4) and the ninth warmest in Parkersburg (68.0).
