POCOMOKE CITY, Md. (AP) -

Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a man days after he was arrested in Pocomoke City.

Troopers say 23-year-old Yakuna McDonald of Virginia Beach, Va., was arrested May 28 by Pocomoke City Police after a car crash. McDonald fled the scene and led police on a half-mile chase. Authorities say when he was caught, McDonald kicked police. After he was handcuffed, officers were carrying him to a police vehicle when he became unconscious.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that McDonald was taken to a hospital, where he died on Friday.
