CHARLESTON -

Facing a 4-1 deficit heading into the sixth inning, something clicked for the Princeton Tigers in the Class AAA state baseball title game.

The Tigers used a six-run inning, en route to a 7-4 win over Nitro.

Corey Quick and J.J. McPherson each drove in two runs. Seth Rose, Chris Otey and Bryson Allen all drove in one run.

On the mound, Alex Quick relieved J.C. Pennington after four innings and earned the win by not allowing a run in the final three innings.

The Tigers collected 10 hits, while the Wildcats recorded five.

This was the first state baseball championship for Princeton.

Austin Southcott, Pennington, Seth Rose and Allen were all named to the All-Tournament Team.
