PRUNTYTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -

Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Pruntytown Correctional Center.

Warden Debra Minnix says inmate Matthew Stuart Wade, 49, of Beckley was still missing Monday.

He was last seen at his housing unit Saturday night.

Media outlets report that Wade is white, about 5-feet-4-inches and 240 pounds, with short black hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a gray sweatshirt.

Wade was imprisoned in 2009 for solicitation of first-degree murder and threats of retaliation against a public official.

He'd been at the minimum- and medium-security facility since March after serving time at both the Mount Olive Correctional Complex and at Huttonsville Correctional Center.

State Police Capt. James Merrill says Wade should be considered dangerous, and people should not approach him.
