Last week Lauren Weppler was leading a congregation from a Raleigh County church pulpit, but this Tuesday she got dirty while working at the Beckley Motor Speedway.
Weppler first was learning how to announce the drivers and their cars as they made their way around the dirt track.
"Keep the crowed informed and up to date, and also pumped up," Tim Howard directed Weppler.
"Let's get started. Oh yea number 53 go baby go," shouted Weppler as racers speed across the track.
Weppler then made her way down to the pit where racers and their crews wait to be called to race against one another.
T.J. Salango a driver from Fairdale showed Weppler how to get in and out of one of the race cars. He called her a "little rusty" on actually being able to get in and out gracefully.
Finally she was able to wave the checkered flag to complete her tasks at the racetrack.
