Reds call up Negron with CF Stubbs out a few days

CINCINNATI (AP) -

The Reds called up utility player Kristopher Negron from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, giving them another outfielder while Drew Stubbs recovers from a pulled muscle in his side.
    
Negron played every outfield position in the minors. He batted .212 with five homers and 15 stolen bases at Louisville.
    
Infielder Mike Costanzo was optioned to Triple-A Louisville. Costanzo appeared in 17 games and was hitless in his last 11 at-bats, going 1 for 18 overall.
    
Stubbs pulled a muscle in his left side on a swing during an 8-4 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. He was examined on Wednesday. Manager Dusty Baker said the center fielder will be sidelined for a few days.
    
Chris Heisey also can play center field. Wilson Valdez played center after Stubbs got hurt.
