West Virginia University students will pay 5 percent more in tuition and fees this fall.
The Board of Governors approved the increases today in Charleston.
They amount to $145 more per semester for resident undergraduates and $449 more for non-residents.
The board also approved a one-time fee of $63 per semester to replace all the individual course fees that students were once charged.
That raises the total cost of tuition and fees from $2,837 to $3,045 dollars per semester for residents, and from $8,922 to $9,434 for nonresidents.
